I wonder how much actual useful data is extracted from testing samples from the local sewage treatment plants. I suppose they can track trends in data gathered from lines coming into the plant from different sectors of the community and therefore assume that there are more people living in that area that are infected with the virus but what actions might they take as a result of acquiring that knowledge? I don't understand how the data could contribute to the control of the virus in those areas.

I believe Hamilton College was doing the same thing up here at the beginning. No idea if they still are or not.
