Got on online this morning to pay my water bill & on their home page is a notice in bold red letters- ATTENTION HOMEOWNERS, then goes on to explain that the O.C. legistlature has approved a sewer rate increase of 18.3%. There's another slap in the face to homeowners thank you very much & a HAPPY EASTER to you too, O.C. Legistlatures! Thanks a lot!

I rent a townhouse and pay my own sewer, trash pickup and water, plus buy all my own bluebags. my water bill, ect is off the hook: I pay over $110.00 every 90 days, plus bluebags at $1.25 each, small. I cannot afford an almost 20% increase. I even stopped using my dishwasher, don't have a washer dryer, and take 3 minute showers once a week. ( a personal problem??). The woman who lives next to me takes a 40 minute shower every day. I can hear the water running. I cannot imagine what her bill is. Oneida County is eating me alive.

Last year with the dry summer we had they sucked us dry having to water the garden constantly. So this year, the hell with them. I'm not planting one. I'm filling the garden in with fresh topsoil, planting grass & be done with it. I'd rather give my money to local fruit & produce growers then give it to O.C. & MVWA bloodsuckers. Because that's what they are. They never mention water conservation because they don't want people to cut down on usage so they can continue to milk the gravy train that O.C. & the MVWA is running. |

You are paying the price of neglect by those in the past who didn't maintain and upgrade the sewer system over time. Now the badly deteriorated state of the system, along with the increased cost compared to what it would have it properly maintained and improved a little at a time, is outrageous.

They spent millions to upgrade parts of the sewer system for the phantom chip plant that they've been waiting 20 years for. Other then that the only time anything is upgraded is when it grenades. Drive thru Utica & half the catch basins are sinking below street level. So where's the money going?

Money might be going into all the work being done on Route 5 from Adirondack Center up to Proctor Park area. I've watched brand new sewers, huge pipes for water runoff and new cables for electrical services of all kinds. Plus new side walks even in area's that never had sidewalks and bicycle paths next to the new sidewalks.

5 years ago the city paved our street, today the new pavement is totally broken down and collapsing in some areas, now you can see the mess and the patchwork quilt of "fixes" they did. It is worse than before and I hate driving on it. Worse than that, for some reason unbeknownst to me, or anyone else, other than those drivers, 3 or 4 times a year the city has a caravan of either dump trucks, snow plows, or other DPW vehicles parade down our street. Don't ask me why. Don't ask anyone else either. No one knows and it seems no one can find out why. Whence they come and wither they go remains the great unknown.

Yep. And I've yet to hear mention of it in the news media. It may have made the OD, idk. I don't subscribe & I refuse to buy it. |
