The Franklin has great food and large portions but if you want a good atmosphere and decent food the Savoy in Rome is great! I have always had a nice meal and the people and piano make it a great experience. P.S. The Martini's straight up with an olive are the best! Three Cheers For The Franklin! Great fish fry on Friday night. Great meatloaf. Huge portions. My brother practically lives there. Actually, he used to really live there. I'm sorry I didn't get there during the Boilermaker. Too busy and I was just down the street.

Smiley, the Savoy has, flat out, the best bar in Rome. My aunt testifies that the same was true during the 1940s.

And they're still on their same keg of beer!

Of all the times I've been to the Savoy, there has never been anyone at that piano. I thought it was just for looks.

I went to a party at the Franklyn the other night and it was outstanding. Everything was out of this world. The sausage and peppers was the best I've had in a long time. It is worth it to go down for lunch or dinner! I also tried the 257 steakhouse under new ownership and the Riggies were very good. They have Shrimp, Chicken or Steak Riggies. Not sure how any of the other food is.

Oooh, I have never had steak riggies. That must be different, but sound mouth watering. The Franklin cannot be beat in Rome for food quality and taste. If you are looking for atmosphere, keep on driving right past the Franklin, haha.
