Getting more interestingN.Y. assemblyman: Lawmakers are 'inching toward' Cuomo impeachment probeA Democratic New York state lawmaker who accused Gov. Andrew Cuomo of threatening him over his criticism of the handling of COVID-19-related nursing home deaths said Friday that support is building within the state legislature to begin an impeachment investigation. “It will take a little time to build that consensus, but every day we are inching toward the impeachment process,” Assemblyman Ronald Kim, a Democrat from Queens, said in an interview with the Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery.” He estimated that, along with “virtually all” Republicans, between 25 and 30 Democratic legislators currently support an impeachment inquiry into Cuomo — a number he suggested is growing steadily. www.aol.com/news/n-y-assemblyman-lawmakers-inching-224110370.html

Cuomo vows to call out those 'lying' about nursing homesAndrew Cuomo on nursing home criticism: 'I was not aggressive enough in fighting back'But the governor also said he was "too complacent" in letting political opponents "lie" about his administration's performance and policies, including a March 25 order preventing nursing homes from rejecting COVID-positive admissions that some have suggested contributed to the crisis inside the homes. "If you are lying to the people of the state of New York, I'm going to call it out," Cuomo said. "If you are lying in a report, I'm going to call it out. If you're lying in a newspaper because you have your own partisan agenda, I'm going to call it out." Later, he said: "Funny, you guys (reporters) like to say I'm too aggressive. Oh, no, no, no. I wasn't aggressive enough." www.uticaod.com/story/news/2021/02/19/andrew-cuomo-nursing-homes-i-wasnt-aggressive-enough-fighting-back/4509455001/?utm_source=uticaod-Daily%20Briefing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=daily_briefing&utm_term=hero

He was constantly making the news even down here, and yes, it has made our local news that his reporting was negligent. I wasn't a fan of his father and I am not a fan of his either. If he were to be recalled and impeached I would not be a disappointed former NYer. He and DiBlasio are both corrupt self adoring crooks as far as I can see .

It is exciting to read and watch the development. I wonder if he will be impeached or if someone else head will roll.

It is exciting to read and watch the development. I wonder if he will be impeached or if someone else head will roll. Those are not mutually exclusive. Just breathe deeply while maintaining the full lotus position and recite the mantra, "Andrew Cuomo was too passive." Try not to giggle.

Now he has said that nursing homes will open Monday after being on lockdown for a full year. This all sounds great, but there will still be many rules and restrictions set by the CDC that will have to be enforced and nursing homes will not bend or break them for reasons too numerous to enumerate here. He at first said that they could reopen on a limited basis in July, 2020 and that turned out to be a logistical nightmare. It was not doable for resident's, staff or visitors. So, they are set to try it again, but here's the kicker: the facility has to be covid free for 14 days up to the 22nd of February. They cannot have had even ONE active case since the Monday the 8th of February and all this has to be documented and proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. A big job to review, proof and submit all that data in a short time, because family members, ect will be flooding the lines with phone calls and flocking there to get in, only to find themselves turned away at the doors, or their calls will be rerouted to activities or Administration or the nearest answering machine. Why: 2 main reasons: first, the time frame is too tight, and the facilities may not prepared. In order to reopen to visitation a plan has to be prepared and approved and reviewed by ...who? Oh, God nose! Also, there are visitor covid testing restrictions. You have to have proof that you have been tested within 7 days and are covid free...or you can take a rapid test at the facility if the facility has rapid tests to give you...now, Cuomo says this will happen.. he promises it will happen .Perhaps, but not tomorrow. Perhaps not for months. I come at this from a history of nursing home work and know how these systems operate...they are slower than the mills of the God's. I have my own story. I have a brother in long term care. I know for a fact that the facility has a high number of active covid cases that they are trying to keep under wraps. Given the demographics of their ages, some may live on a long time, others may not. They will have to wait to open until every one of these cases is cleared and absolutely accept no more active cases, which puts the facility in a double bind regarding the daily census. Cuomo, by discharging active covid cases to nursing homes has created a hydra, a snake pit of epic proportions. Meanwhile, the wolf is waiting at the door for him. I say open it wide, grab him and toss him out. I won't cry.

I'm no fan of Cuomo's at all but I'm not sure that the hands of nursing home operators are entirely clean when it comes to ensuring the safety & well bring of patients as far as Covid is concerned or anything else for that matter, considering their record of neglect & incompetence.

Well, I spent years in the profession and I've met a few in my life: one used to play computer chess all day with his feet up on the desk, another used to play the horse numbers all day, one of them ran away with a nurse and was never heard from again (that was after his wife caught him cheating and hid in the bushes outside the facility with a double barreled shotgun, waiting to pick him off.

Not all nursing homes are bad. The home my dad was in was excellent and his care was excellent. The nurses and staff all loved him and spoiled him rotten. Soon after he passed away the place was sold to a larger conglomerate of nursing homes and the staff was reduced, the place was filthy and the care went downhill. I stopped there once when I was in Kingsport to bring pizza to those that cared for him and found that not only managers but also therapists and nurses had all moved on and there wasn't a familiar face left in the dirty and pissy smelling place.

Cuomo says he was 'being playful,' but admits he 'may have been insensitive' amid sexual harassment claims
'I acknowledge some of the things I have said have been misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation... I am truly sorry about that' New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo attempted to explain his past interactions with staffers as the embattled Democrat is facing multiple accusations of sexual harassment. "Questions have been raised about some of my past interactions with people in the office," Cuomo began in a press release on Sunday. "I never intended to offend anyone or cause any harm. I spend most of my life at work and colleagues are often also personal friends." "At work sometimes I think I am being playful and make jokes that I think are funny. I do, on occasion, tease people in what I think is a good-natured way," the governor explained. "I do it in public and in private. You have seen me do it at briefings hundreds of times. I have teased people about their personal lives, their relationships, about getting married or not getting married. I mean no offense and only attempt to add some levity and banter to what is a very serious business." www.foxnews.com/politics/cuomo-says-he-was-being-playful-but-admits-he-may-have-been-insensitive-amid-sexual-harassment-claimsI'll give him the benefit of doubt that it might all just be playful banter. He may have over stepped himself and that could easily happen. He needs to be more sensitive in his approach. At least he wasn't caught with his pants down. I wonder why he broke up with his girlfriend the TV cook or why she broke up with him. Relationships never easy or meant to be I guess.

"I wonder why he broke up with his girlfriend the TV cook or why she broke up with him. Relationships never easy or meant to be I guess." Good question PB. Just from listening to him and his briefings it becomes easy to see that he is an arrogant and overbearing. When is the last time anyone has seen him smile? I realize that he has had a lot on his mind during the pandemic, but even before that I don't ever recall him being pleasant or personable. His overall demeanor tends to make me believe that she may have left him simply because he is a scowling, miserable SOB. http://instagram.com/p/CIybZOhlxwY "True to their word, both Sandra and Gov. Cuomo have remained quite tight-lipped about their relationship in the year since its dissolution. A person with knowledge of the couple’s relationship told The New York Times that Sandra’s “more public profile — and recent embrace of a more political role in her personal life — had caused friction with the governor,” although the governor’s office denied that." Their split may have been partially fueled by a desire to get on with life and realize her own dreams. She has since ;purchased an ocean side house in Malibu, California. After surviving breast cancer and a double mastectomy, she may have decided that life is too short to waste even a day, and that her dreams were not of living in NY. She may have found that she was just not suited for life with a politician who's major focus is on his political ambitions and a goal of becoming President of the United States.
