I'm about 5 years behind the times, but I started The DaVinci Code while camping. I'm about a third of the way through & it will probably take awhile to finish now that I'm home & have the option of coming on line here with you fine folks instead!

I really enjoyed the DaVinci Code. It really had some interesting points. Especially about the Last Supper painting.

It's hard NOT to see Mary Magdalene instead of John in the painting of the Last Supper. I read the book a couple of years ago. It just kept going and going and going, as I remember. The chase seemed like it would never end. Probably should have ended a bit sooner. I liked it though. Thought it was a good story. Much of the history Brown invented bears some thought.

Read it when it first came out and enjoyed every bit of it against all the dissing. Typical, "We aren't smart enough to decide what is fact and what is not." Maybe, but faith is what it is and what one believes deep inside. No religious argument can be won as we have seen in the Mid-East for thousands of years.
Movie was great too and it kept pretty close to the book. I like Hanks anyway and I thought He played the part excellently.

Maybe, but faith is what it is and what one believes deep inside. If we couldn't argue about religion, life would seem like living in public. Or a network newsroom. The middle easterners do not practice argumentation, from what I've seen. More like 4 year olds with deadly weapons. Back on topic ... sort of ... Hank's movie I liked him in the best was the one where he's left on a deserted island after a plane crash. I never liked him until he got a little older, since he always seemed to me a preppy Billy Crystal type ... dopey ... when younger. Hmmm ... but I DID enjoy "Big."

This is a neat site from the Anglican Church. www.stjohnsroslyn.org.nz/da_vinci_code.html"We aren't out to suppress free speech, and The Da Vinci Code is a readable and often very clever thriller. But don't forget that it's a work of fiction. Some of the material which it presents as fact is actually highly incorrect. The sections below look at some of this material, and we try to sort out what's real from what isn't.

If you liked The Davinci code, you would like the prequel to it, Angels and Demons. Very similar stories centered around religion. As a matter of fact after reading both of them it's hard to distinguish between the two in my mind.

As a matter of fact after reading both of them it's hard to distinguish between the two in my mind. That was true for me, too. In fact, when I began to read Angels and Demons (after having read the DaVinci Code,) I thought I was reading an earlier version. I never finished A and D.
