I was wondering what content was like.

The content is a mishmash of conspiracy theories, radicalism from both sides and some sides that haven't been invented yet, rabid racism, hate speech, anti hate speech, : every nut that could jump out of the can is on there plus a few logical people I would imagine. I for one, even if I was into conspiracy theories, would not even log on there...or ever have an acct. Clipper was correct to delete his account. Everything you do on the web can be tracked back to your name. I am no longer posting on FB. I realize I can't delete my accnt. because of the amt of historical, personal, ect. info stored there, including digital access to my paintings, so I decided to just stop posting. Incidentally, I put it out there: no one responded. I am not on twitter, instagram, snap chat or anything else. I am very wary of all those folks who post these lengthy FB rants about everything because someone is always watching. No I understand that platform access to Parler through Google and Apple is being denied...the app can no longer be downloaded. I am not sorry. There are a million other venues to exercise your free speech rights. Surely we can find them if we look around.

deadline.com/2021/01/parler-ceo-says-service-dropped-by-every-vendor-and-could-end-the-company-1234670607/?fbclid=IwAR12JuQswm_k7-ErG5w3CKPB6qdtRMdC5kclckNCH3Jc_hCUOT8eI1G1c7EI guess big Tech still has the upper hand, no matter whether it is justified or not. I would say that reading this article about nobody willing to take Parler onto it's servers tells the story. From what little I saw during my short and first browse about on Parler tells me that whether companies refusing to carry them on their servers is "fair" or not, it damned sure is JUSTIFIED. What I saw was a potentially dangerous mish mash of inciteful and frightening trash. I fully support freedom of speech but the present unstable political environment makes this thing nothing short of potentially dangerous to the safety of the general public. "It may end the company?" I guess some companies NEED to fail.

I'm on FB but don't post a lot. I've never checked our Parler but I've heard about it so I stayed away. And I'm not on Instagram, Snapchat or Twitter, though I did register on there a couple years ago but never bothered with it. I don't even bother with message boards anymore just a couple, a DIY forum, boating forum, & a truck message board for my pickup & I rarely even go to those anymore. As far as Parler is concerned, I'm glad they shut it down. But if the garbage posted on there was out in the open, one can only imagine what these nuts jobs are doing on the Dark Web. Scary times for sure.

I was on Parler and did not see anything extreme -- but I confined my self to news sources, well known personalities, and people I actually know, using it more like a news aggregator than a platform to speak from. I do not doubt that some pro-Trump people posted some pretty nasty stuff. I saw that on a FB group a friend got me into, which I left after 2 days. But I really have to wonder whether any of the nasties really have any kind of following.

I just didn't want to be in any way associated with the so called "patriots" that I encountered. Easier to dump a few than to be associated with the many. I have observed a couple of the personal acquaintances that I ended up deleting were becoming more and more incensed and inflamed with the alleged election fraud claims and were getting a bit over the edge. I believe that the way the mail in ballots were handled lacked accountability and was wide open to fraud, but enough is enough. It eventually became increasingly evident that nothing was going to change the results of the election anyway.
