I will be off to bed shortly. I have to get an early start in the morning to be at the flea market when it opens. 9mm ammunition is in short supply and gun shops are reserving what they are able to get for customers that buy a handgun from them.
A friend that is a retired law enforcement officer told me about a guy at the flea market that often has a quite a bit of it on Saturday mornings and to tell the guy that my friend sent me. Depending on what he has I may only be able to buy a box or two of 50 rounds each, or if I am lucky he will have boxes of 1000 rounds for a little over $200. Who knows how he is able to get it when the gun shops can't but I won't ask any questions if he has it to sell. I love to target shoot but have had to conserve what ammo I have. It would be great to be able to take a hundred or so rounds and go to the range or to the gravel pit to tear up some paper silhouette targets or small targets taped to jugs of water. If he has the 1000 round boxes, my friend wants me to grab one for him too. He lives out away from town and has several acres and a shooting range. He came here from downstate NY and is retired sheriff's deputy. He is loving the southern laid back lifestyle and enjoys having land and cows after living in downstate NY.
I have been meaning to ask Dick Laurey if ammunition is short on the West coast too.

I was at the flea market at 7:45 and met the guy at his door when he opened at 8. Bought two boxes for $40 a box. Yikes. Before the shortage a box of 50 was about 15 bucks. No 1000 round boxes, but at least I have enough for now to go fire a few rounds at targets. At that price I won't be shooting up boxes at a time that's for sure.

Wally World here doesn't sell guns anymore, but we still sell ammo. Goes off the shelf as fast as it comes in too!
