Walmart to give 4th round of
bonuses to workers since virus
Walmart said for the fourth time during the pandemic it will give its 1.5 million U.S. part-time and full-time employees additional cash bonuses for
their work.
The move, announced Thursday, follows similar announcements in recent
weeks by such retailers as Target,
Lowe’s, and Amazon, which are all offering another round of bonuses as virus cases surge around the country.
The round of bonuses come as laborbacked groups have been increasing
pressure on retailers to extend cash bonuses to workers who have felt the brunt
of the pandemic as they rush to fill a
crush of online orders or bag groceries
and risk exposure to the virus.

My fav store how great of them.

I am happy to hear the news. I am especially happy for our friend Ralph who works there.

While they are feeling benevolent and grateful for the employee's labors I am sure that another issue that prompts them to be so generous is their disdain for organized labor and constant campaign to avoid unionization of their employees. They have actually closed stores where there were efforts to organize.

They have actually closed stores where there were efforts to organize. When the meatcutters at WalMart attempted to unionize a few years ago they fired every one of them. That's why I won't buy meat from them. Retailers such as WM should be giving their employees hazard duty pay every paycheck for what they do, imho.

They rule their employees through sheer tyranny. Good place to work for some, but if anyone has any intention of making any waves, they better start looking for alternative employment.

How's that for getting rid of the problem All their meat comes in from the producers, either fresh or frozen. And most if it isn't worth a crap.

The bonus is nice, especially after they add it to our payroll and they tax the shit out of it. Goes along nice with our quarterly bonus of $133.00 that they taxed to death as well.
I'm not complaining, as it's a few extra bucks, but far from what I would consider a "bonus".

Yep, and we have an incoming administration that is promising to raise taxes and that raise will certainly be passed along to us working class folks.

Retailers such as WM should be giving their employees hazard duty pay every paycheck for what they do, imho. I meant to add that there are no more meat cutters at Walmart. All their meats come in from the producers either fresh packed or frozen. And of course they taste like shoe leather.

She is a wonderful artist, and a great historian with a vast knowledge of Utica's history. She, Dave Griffin, and Jon Hynes dedicated countless hours researching city history and bringing it here to the forum for us all to enjoy.

Oh yes Fiona. I have admired her writing and research. Seems like a fun gal. I think I saw her( well not her per say) a few times commenting on the WKTV site. Hope she become a regular. I miss some of the old or young or in between people who have participated and wish they would return. One thing for sure politics needs not be a heated issue and when that happens it is best to end it or like someone says: nip it in the bud ( Barny Fyfe)
I still wish Dave was around he was a good egg. I wonder if he is still writing and printing on the other side. I bet he is........
Barb was a classic also and wish she would be a regular. She was the lady with a horse? Something like that....

I was just thinking. I was in Fountain Elms to view their Christmas display a while ago I have to get back there again for this years view. The place so reminds me of the grandparents who were both English and German and owned furniture like what is displayed in their house in South Utica on Meeker Ave. One time I thought of Fiona who I envisioned sitting in a chair having tea. Sometimes my brain works wonders.

Sometimes my brain works wonders. Barb used to go to Jamaica every year and she took a photo every year with a horse that she used to ride in the surf. Same horse every year. I think she posted on Facebook that her favorite horse died.
