The numbers here, as in many places across the country, are soaring, setting records daily. Our hospital system that covers a wide area of NE Tennessee and SW Virginia is quickly becoming overwhelmed with cases. Yesterday they announced that they have positioned a refrigerated portable morgue with a capacity of 40 bodies at the Johnson City Medical Center, and have requested another for Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport. As in many areas, all elective procedures and non-emergent procedures have been cancelled at all our local hospitals and some local clinics have been closed to free up medical staff to be used at the hospitals. I fear that the worst is yet to come in the next few days or weeks.
All we can do is try to minimize contact with others, socially distance when outside the home, wear or masks correctly and faithfully, and follow all the hygiene recommendations for hand washing and hand sanitizing. Above all, we can pray for people to smarten up and follow CDC guidelines, whether they happen to agree with them or not. It is not only their own lives that are at stake, but the lives of those of us that are in a vulnerable category.

Yup I am very glad to see this for it is pay back time because fools cannot and will not listen to common sense. Numbers age soaring again out here and Syracuse I read the mooring is in a mess. They may have to start turning people away from hospitals lol'
Wait what is that loud cry: Oh another family struck by death from COVID.

I just watched our local news. Having to have a morgue trailer delivered to the hospitals sounded very alarming, but they just revealed that both hospital morgues only accommodate 6 or 7 bodies. Having over 7 bodies around at a time is alarming, but nothing close to the image I had of bodies stacked up like they were in NYC and rotting in U-haul trucks during the first go around.
