wcyb.com/news/local/pmg-research-of-bristol-selected-to-participate-in-covid-19-vaccine-phase-3-clinical-trialThis lab and medical practice is next door to the physical therapy facility that I have used after my shoulder surgery as well as my knee replacements. I have seen people coming and going from there but never really knew what they do there other than do medical experimentation on volunteer patients. I have seen ads looking for volunteers for different trials over the years that we have lived here and know a person that volunteered to be a lab rat for past trials. They pay volunteers and people do it simply for the money, sort of like those that donate blood and plasma at a local collection center that pays a person for their blood. I don't think I would be wanting to take part or have an experimental vaccine injected into my body in any early human trials. No thanks. I will wait for a proven, approved, and effective vaccine should one become available.

Politics is so rotten right now even if a vaccine is approved millions of people won't take it over suspicions that the process is being rushed. There are milions of people who won't even get a flu shot over the mistaken belief that they can get the flu from the vaccine. No wonder there are millions of cases every year. I'm getting mine next week. The combo of flu season & Covid is going to turn into a never ending catastrophe, I'm afraid.

I got an invitation from some Pharm Company about partaking in the COVID Vaccine trial research. They said they were also interested in people with compromised lung conditions and high blood pressure. I filled out the paper work but was not guaranteed a spot the first time around. I am still hoping they accept me. It would involve some travel but they were opening clinics around here someplace. I always wanted to be a guinea pig. I have my name out there as someone who would be interested in being involved in medical research. I forgot where I signed up it has been so long. There is no compensation involved from what I understood.
I go Thursday for flu shot. I always try to go very close to October since it takes two weeks to build up immunity and I also want the immunity to stay around till after March. I went to early one year and paid the consequences with flu and then pneumonia.

Yep, that's why I wait till early October to get the shot. I skipped once about 10 years & also paid the price getting the flu & ended up with bronchitis. And I've never gotten sick from that vaccine.

The worst reaction I have ever had was a sore arm at the injection site. With 5 grandkids here multiple times per week, I need the protection. We got ours this week.

I just got the notice from the VA that they are allowing vets to get the shot at approved outlets. I assume that they are talking about such places as Walgreen's or CVS. I have to check into it. I usually just go over the Johnson City and they have a walk in clinic in the lobby of the hospital. This year I will probably opt for somewhere else since they have had a couple of outbreaks over there and about 20 deaths of vets and staff.
