We went to the Farmers' Market at NH Town Park today. Bought corn, tomatoes and a few other things. Dinner tonight was BLTs and corn on the cob. Best corn I have had in years. I swear it was picked this morning.

That's the great thing about farmer's markets. MOST of what you find there was picked that same day. We buy sweet corn from a farmer down the road. He doesn't pick a whole bunch at a time and picks to order. You call him the night before and he will pick your corn fresh the next morning. Our farmer's market hasn't had much corn and what they did have was small ears and didn't look all that good. I went the other day for summer squash. My favorite produce market up the road didn't have any. We had a surplus of tomatoes ripen but not enough to can. I bought a zucchini, a summer squash, some mushrooms, and fresh parsley. Kathy made a big batch of ratatouille with the those things, plus fresh garlic, a large onion. We had it for supper that night as a side to pork chops and a salad. Today I had a big bowl of it for lunch.

Clipper... would you go over to the Food thread and post a general technique of how Kathy prepares her Ratatouille? I don't expect a recipe as such, just a technique telling what ingredients and what herbs and spices she uses. Ratatouille is so nutritious but so many people don't know how make it. Thanks.
