With spectrum the costs to the customer never cease to rise. Even with the agreement made when they merged with Time Warner they seek to make and end run around the agreement in order to get into your pockets again, and at a time when data limits are nothing short of greedy considering the fact that kid's only access to education in many cases is virtual learning.
We left the spectrum fold several years ago when their incessant price increases finally angered me enough to call our local utility to switch to their all fiber cable tv, internet, and phone service. We immediately saved $60 a month and the fiber optic system gives us faster internet, and more channels available on tv for a lower cost package than Spectrum offered on their "expanded basic" plan.
I think Spectrum is suffering a significant loss in customers here in this area. I know more and more people that have switched to local utility company plans. It is obvious that Spectrum is feeling the pinch because just about every day since we switched we receive some sort of junk mail from Spectrum offering discounts plans to lure us back. Yep, come back to Spectrum and get a great price FOR ONE YEAR and then hold on to your shorts because the price will spike to even higher than what we paid before we dumped their service.
We are fortunate to have a choice of two or three options here. Sadly I guess Utica is still stuck with only one option for cable, leaving the only other options either Satellite service or a streaming service on their computer.
