"What is so rare as a day in June"
Yesterday was a great day. Our first day back in church in a long time. Some changes. You need to make a reservation for the mass you want to attend. Half of the pews are taped off. Distancing was not a problem. Barb and I sat at one end of a pew which could normally hold about 15 people. A family of 3 sat at the other end.
After church we had an excursion. Barb's brother has a lake place on Oneida Lake. I think this was their opening weekend of the season. Snacks and with beer and wine on their deck over looking the lake. A cruise on their pontoon boat to the eastern end of the lake to view the site where a new casino will be built. Tom grilled ribs. Jo Marie made potato salad, broccoli salad, and 2 other salads. Barb brought strawberry shortcake. This was for 4 people.
After the drive home, we both sat down and put our feet up. How can a day relaxing be tiring?

Sounds like a great day CB. It also sounds like everyone was well fed. Where is the casino going to be located? That should bring a bit more business to the beach.

It will be at the outlet end of the barge canal. A lot of people who had leased properties there have been evicted. If you have a leased spot, it is not a good idea to park a camper and build a big addition and think you have a permanent camp. The addition has negative value if you are evicted and an old camper has very little value.

I remember Skinner's Marina until they sold out to the OIN. They also owned the marina across the canal & one summer I rented a slip from them. I'd drive out there, park, hop in the boat & hit the lake. When Skinner's sold I found another marina on Fish Creek & slipped my boat there for the summer. Imho, it's a damn shame how those people in that park were treated & evicted. Some were elderly & had been in that park for years & were given last fall, short notice to get out. I wonder where they all went.
