YUM! We had a full fledged turkey dinner today. I had the good fortune to buy two more frozen Butterball bone-in turkey breasts. We love turkey and it is good for my cardiac low sodium, low fat diet. So with the two I already had minus the one we cooked today, we still have 3 nice Butterball breasts in the freezer in the garage. You don't often see Butterball bone-in turkey breasts for 99 cents a pound.
We had turkey, home made bread stuffing, steamed broccoli, butternut squash, mashed potatoes, and gravy, and finally, we will finish it off later with a sliver of Kathy's home made strawberry cream cheese pie with a graham cracker crust. ( my fat and sugar for the day)
Who says you can't eat well on a cardiac diet. I had oatmeal with skim milk and stevia sweetener for breakfast. At noon I had a tossed green salad and four saltine squares. For supper I exceeded the recommended fat for the day, with the 3 tablespoons of gravy and the pie, but not by a lot.
I have been amazed at relatively easy it has been to eat a one plate of food at sitting and to limit my intake to 4-6 ounces of animal protein, no salt, and a very small amount of Smart Choice margarine on a piece of toast once a week when I splurge and have 2 scrambled eggs, and a slice of whole grain toast.
I leave the table satisfied, and I have managed to drop 40 lbs. since the first part of February.

You can't go wrong with a nice turkey dinner any time of year. That's a hell of a deal. Around here turkey breasts are usually about $2/lb.

I haven't seen them at such a low sale price since the "after a holiday" price when they had a ton of the things that didn't sell for the holiday. We love turkey. We always stock up on bone-in turkey breasts or whole turkeys when the priced gets low enough to be a real bargain. The whole turkeys will feed us for a couple of hot meals, hot turkey sandwiches for a lunch or two, and plenty for cold sandwiches smeared with Hellman's and sprinkled well with fresh ground black pepper and the carcass yields enough meat and stock to make a nice pot of turkey soup. The best investment we made in a long time was the vacuum sealer. With just two of us eating, we always end up with more meat entree's than we can eat so we put some away for sandwiches or other later use.
