We had some pretty severe downpours and high winds last evening with gusts exceeding 45 and 50mph. Thankfully the trees that we are having taken down survived without blowing down or dropping any large limbs, and the power and cable stayed on. It finally calmed down around midnight and I was able to sleep comfortably without worry of being crushed in our bed by a falling tree.
I see that you in CNY are going to get the high winds and heavy flooding rains today that we had last night. Scary stuff. It was not a steady wind. It was huge gusts that had the trees swaying severely and the rain came in sheets, running down our road a couple of inches deep.
Hunker down. Stay safe and stay dry.

Pretty gusty here as well. I have to call for some more estimates on that tree Monday. $1903.00 seems to be a bit high for my taste.

Wow! The highest estimate I got was $1400 and was fortunate to get it down to $1000. $1900 is pretty high but I guess the location and difficulty is what dictates that price.

I had Art's Tree Service take a tree down here last year. Cost me $600. for a 60 ftr. Did a great job. That $1900 seems a bit high.

I keep seeing their truck over in Sunset Carbonic's lot and finally looked them up the other day. And its a maple tree about the same height as well. I'm glad you chimed in.....thanks!

That does seem like a good one to keep in mind. I have a tree which should come down but it leans sharply toward the power lines. I am not going to let my son do it with his chain saw. A small apple, not any of my maples.
