My 16 year old granddaughter, still in high school, would be considered an unemployed adult, even though she is still a dependent for tax purposes?

Whoever is claimed as a dependent on a tax return probably wouldn't be eligible. That's how the current stimulus is structured. As a side note, wait until workers who are getting UI find out that the money is fully taxable. Unless there's an exemption written into that bill there's gonna be a lot of pissed off people next tax season.

I sent the link to the White House. Something tells me if Trump passes this he will enjoy instant success for a 2nd term.

It has always been taxable but there are probably a lot of people who don't pay attention. Barb put this month's stimulus back into the economy by paying off bills and paying ahead on some things. Next month's will get sent back to the IRS to pay taxes.

No I read that the stimulus payment is tax free and doesn't even have to be included in income. For me this will act like the first stimulus we received and I didn't get a rent increase since it was not counted as income.
I wish the Medicare Part B payment that is returned to me by the State did not count as income but is is. Oh well they try to make it easier but secretly it really isn't since I have to return it to use Medicaid, lol. I think it is all rigged.

PB, where did you read that?
Barb recycled the first stimulus payment back into the economy by paying bills. The next one will go back to the feds to pay income taxes. We owe more than usual this year. I will need to look at why.

Hell will freeze over before thay give anybody $2000/month as a stimulis. They'll give Boeing $1 billion, but $2k to the average Joe? No way, Jose. Just my opinion.
