New Month New Numbers: 1,002,159 infected and 51,485 dead world wide. www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6Well my Doctor is not taking any appointments just had the one coming up canceled which I am thankful for since I did not want to go into Slocum Dickson with virus curse hanging over us. I went through the entrance today with my Bus and it looks like a triage unit. Big tent in entrance to building with nurses checking temps and asking questions. His nurse said no appointments for healthy individuals until the lifts. Just found out Doctors are switching to virtual appointments and Medicare now covers that for everyone.

Just hit the news the modeling suggests that the USA is moving in the direction of what happened in Italy to surpass in the USA. I still say 1,000,000 or more deaths.in USA when over.

My telephone appointment went well. We did a Zoom meeting for our lodge which went pretty well. I had a couple sign on glitches but otherwise OK.
My two older grandsons left to go back with their mom for a few days. Daughter Katie set up a video conference with her kids today. Grandson Keith the Youngest was especially excited, practically stuck his face through the phone.

I am watching at least once or twice a day for updates, Usually first thing in the morning while I am having my coffee, and then with Lester Holt at 6:30. I don't stay tuned in at noon or any other time normally unless there is a breaking news bulletin. Breaking news usually pops up on Facebook and I pop in an out of that all day. Whenever I happen to come in the house for something I almost always stop by the computer to check my FB page and my Email.
The figures they are forecasting in many of the models are depressing. ANY death from this pandemic is sad and depressing, but the media is focused so deeply on the deaths and the possible death toll that it becomes a bit much. They certainly have not tripped over themselves to tell us any accurate figures concerning the numbers that have been stricken and have gotten over it without any ill effects. A high percentage of those that contract it get over it without hospitalization or need for critical care. A little balance between the morbid and the encouraging would be a breath of fresh air.
I imagine with the stay home policies in effect, there are lots of folks sitting in front of the tv watching the coverage all day long. For those that are already depressed and suffering from cabin fever it can't be good to be bombarding them 24/7 with negativity.

Death, Death, Death. Not depressing it just populated heaven. Give thanks.
Anyone want to take odds with these numbers. The Colleges in Utica are preparing rooms for workers and infected alike. Amazing. I still think this is because of wide spread sin throughout the world and Jesus wants to correct this. Repent and be saved especially during this Lenten season.

Some observations on video conferencing. Our lodge meeting went well. We tend to be a group who let people speak w/o interrupting. That seems to be key. If multiple people try to talk the system overloads.
Barb ran into that problem with her singing group. They tried to open with a prayer (normal for them) and practice a couple songs. Did not work for them.
Whitesboro schools have sessions with all the kids on-line with their teacher at one time. I suspect that not much learning goes on but it does give kids a chance to interact with their teacher and their friends.
Keith is different. His daycare is his social life. I am sure he feels the loss of daily contact with his friends. From his video chat with me, "I want to hug you!"

I am thankful for Facetime being so far distanced from my kids and grandkids. I think my youngest grand daughter is most affected by the seclusion. My daughter in-law is doing a fantastic job of organizing activities and working at a home schooling regimen for both the girls. The youngest has a hard time with not being able to go to her preschool, and not being able to see her friends and teacher. I guess she is able to understand that people are sick and that she can't go out because she may catch what they have, but as far as really understanding the entire of having to stay home and not interact with anyone outside the home is confusing to her. Her maternal grandma lives not far from them and she can't understand why grandma can't visit or give her hugs.
Kathy and I are okay with the isolation thus far, but we both miss socializing with neighbors, family and friends that we quite often socialize with and go out to eat with. I normally go to McDonald's a couple of times a month for lunch with my brother and sister. We normally go to dinner at least twice a month with a couple we bowl with, and we always go to Perkin's with 3 other couples after bowling. My neighbor Terry still comes over the chat during the day but we sit out in the carport in lawn chairs about 20 feet or more apart.
The sanitation is the most inconvenient issue. The constant use of hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and Lysol spray has become a part of everything we do or touch during the day. Such things as bringing the garbage can back to the carport on garbage day has become an involved procedure. It now requires spraying the lid and handle with Lysol, letting it dry, and then putting a dog poopy bag on my hand to grasp the handle in order to wheel the can back up the driveway. I won't even go into all the sanitization necessary when I go shopping, from sanitizing the cart to sanitizing my hands, the door handles, and interior of the truck before entering. Stores here have started sanitizing the carts and lining them up for people to grab when they enter the store. They are spraying a disinfectant on the carts and wiping them down with paper toweling. I still squeeze some hand sanitizer on my hands and wet the handle of the cart with it. I am not sure how effective it is for them to spray the handles briefly with a squirt bottle and give them a quick wipe with a towel.

The Feds will probably tell people to start wearing masks when out in public. I was in Chanatry's this morning & I'd say half the customers were wearing masks as was the checkout clerk. Problem is the masks are like gold right now. I have a few dust masks but no N95's.
It stopped raining here so I took a walk outside. As I stepped out on the back deck a hawk dived, snagged a pigeon & flew away. Not a pretty sight.
