I hope that NY State is enjoying a good day today. It is going to 80+ degrees this afternoon. I need to drag my lazy ass away from this computer and get outside to do something in the sunshine and fresh air. For some reason it seems harder than ever to drag myself out to do anything with this self imposed confinement.
I have lots to do but lack the energy and ambition to get doing it.
Enjoy your day and stay safe my friends.

Seems pretty nice here today. Sauquoit schools are delivering take out meals to the homes with kids on their bus routes. Since the boys are here this week that means someone driving to Chadwicks to pick up bags with 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts. I did it today. Got me out of the house with minimum exposure.

Glad you were able to get out and do something with minimal exposure. The cabin fever can make a person very blue after awhile. Of course with grandkids in the house I am sure that is not a problem.
I finished cutting the rose bushes back, Cut the hydrangeas back to the ground. A task I usually do in the fall. When we moved here from NY we brought two 5 gallon pails with 3 or 4 small plants. They have thrived and now cover a space about 8 feet in diameter and grow 4 feet tall or more. The original plants have a family history for Kathy. They started around her grandmother's camp on Canadarago Lake back in the 40's. Everyone in the family has taken some of them over the years and they still thrive to this day.
With that task complete I got out and started all the gasoline powered lawn and garden equipment. Walk behind lawn mower, lawn tractor, two rototillers, the chipper shredder, leaf blower, and chain saw. All tuned up, filled with fresh gas and ready for use. It is 81 here right now and I have quit for the day and am sitting here sipping on a cold sweet tea with lemon. I hope your day in NY was as pleasant.

Not bad here today, sunny high about 50. I need to have a tree stump ground up so I can plant grass where the old tree was & figure out something to replace it with. I don't know if any of those places are even open. If not I'm out of luck. Plus I need to find a place to rent a tiller for the garden & too use on some lawn where the boat trailer was parked & some areas that are bare. I miss the old Taylor Rental in Whitesboro where they had all kinds of power equipment to rent for a day or longer at reasonable prices. They closed shop about 5 years ago.

Those rental places are harder to find. These days I am more likely to ask my son.

Isn't there a rental place like that in Rome? There are lots of the rental places here and they rent almost anything you can think of. Years ago I rented a full sized backhoe loader, dug French drains around my mom and dad's house and a 8'x8'x6'deep dry well filled with crushed stone to catch the water and dissipate it.
Home Depot and Lowes sometimes have rototillers for rent.
One of my friends had several loads of fill delivered. He rented a small bulldozer for $140 for the afternoon, and I went over and graded off the dirt for him. I was surprised when we moved here to find that I could rent full sized construction equipment. Up there in NY I had to prove that I had 100K in liability insurance before I could rent a backhoe.

Try posting on one of the garage sale sites. "wanted to rent, rear tine tiller" I see that kind of ad on our local marketplace site all the time.

It was a nice day today and had a perfect ending. I wish I had a place for a veggie garden. I love that sort of thing and really miss it.

Yep, there's a Taylor Rental in Rome that has tillers. Next week I'll call around about that stump. Problem is next week look like a washout, temps barely hitting 50.

We had a call from our daughter tonight. Granddaughter Carrie is OK with current rules. Grandson Keith does not understand. He wants to see his friends. I would invite him here but that is probably not a good idea.
