I called the cardiologist yesterday because the itching that is a side effect of taking the Brilinta was getting unbearable and I had exceeded the recommended period of use for the steroid based itch creams.
He switched me to Plavix. I had to take 8 tablets for the first dose, 12 hours after the last dose of Brilinta. That was nine thirty last night. I took the 8 tablets (total 600 mg) on an empty stomach and went to bed a couple of hours later. I woke up this morning with a pukey feeling stomach so I immediately ate a bowl of cereal and it straightened up thank goodness. The itching has also subsided somewhat and is bearable. I will definitely be taking the Plavix with my breakfast and not on an empty stomach.
Still doing the happy dance over the price difference between Plavix and Brilinta. $33 for 90 days as opposed to hundreds.
Woke up to rain and fairly dense fog this morning but the sun came out and it is forecast to hit the mid sixties. I am going to take a nice long walk in the sunshine in a little while. I bought a bright fluorescent green vest to wear while walking. I walk against traffic on this narrow road because some idiots do about 50 or more on a road posted for 35. It is in the country so we don't see any law enforcement checking speed. The road is so narrow that there is literally no place for them to set up with radar other than in someone's driveway. They don't even move over for a pedestrian. I have had to dive behind our mailbox to avoid being hit a couple times when two cars happened to be passing in opposite directions as I was getting the mail.

Good that the Plavix is working for you.
Sunny here but still in the 30s.
I went to the dentist this morning to get a new crown installed. That technology has certainly changed since my last crown. I went in a couple weeks ago because one of my bicuspids had become a mono-cuspid overnight. They used a new tool which made a digital 3-D map of my mouth and sent that to the lab. It fit perfectly and I was back in my car 18 minutes after the scheduled start time of my appointment.

It is amazing what they can do now. I imagine that sort of technology could eventually be used to make a denture plate.
It sure is a relief to see the itching going away. I still itch, but it is nothing compared to yesterday. I imagine it will take a few days for the Brilinta's effects to go away. It is bearable today.
Hindsight is 20/20. I was not thinking when I took 8 pills on an empty stomach and went to bed. I should have eaten a little something.
