If you have not seen this movie yet, I highly recommend you do so.
The plot centers around Jodie Foster who is a victim of a severe beating by a gang of hoodlums while walking in Central Park with her finance. He ends up dying from the beating he received, and she survives after being in a coma for 3 weeks.
She ends up killing over 4"bad guys" who had victimized innocent people - all because the cops were not there to prevent these bad guys from hurting the innocent people.
It is an excellent movie and I highly recommended it to anyone that enjoys a real crime thriller.
P.S. It is a cop that helps her in the end!

This was a good movie, slow in parts and not very realistic but defiantly made you stand up and cheer for her in the end.

While I'm not one to champion vigilante justice, it does portray society's frustration with the criminals who are lucky enough to evade criminal capture.
While it is a lofty goal to try and prevent crime, that's not the job of the police. They're job is to enforce the laws and to stop criminals. You're not a criminal until you break the law or create a substantial step toward committing a crime. She kills the bad guys because the police are unable to capture and bring them to justice either because of lack of credible leads or legal barriers, e.g. the 4th amendment.
Definitely a worthwhile movie to watch.

Emotionally, her vigilante justice took its toll on her as she ended up being nothing more than a shell of a human being void of any emotion.
This movie deserves some kind of Award at the Oscars!

True, swimmy or like Charles Bronson in the Death Wish series. At least Robo-Cop still had some humanity in him at the end.
