I read about it in a different source than your link (Can't find it right now, I really miss my memory)
From the report I read, it was material that was "bagged & tagged" in the early 90's. The real challenge to US Forces was keeping it quiet & secure since the invasion until a deal was made to sell it to Canada.
It was then shipped by cargo plane to Diego Garcia & then by US flag carier to Montreal.

The "spin" today is that all the yellowcake that we liberated is old stuff, from pre-gulf war 1. The mainstream is linking this to the Valerie Plame issue saying they were right, Saddam never actually got the additional yellowcake from Niger, so since we already knew about this load, we had no reason to go in. Circular logic at best. Load of shit if you ask me. The amounts of yellowcake and the way it was secured (or not) was reason enough. Hey Wilum, how may nukes did you guys just leave laying around for the tourists to pick up as souveniers?

From todays issue of "The Patriot Post" online.
EDITORIAL EXEGESIS “Hear about the 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium found in Iraq? No? Why should you? It doesn’t fit the media’s neat story line that Saddam Hussein’s Iraq posed no nuclear threat when we invaded in 2003. It’s a little known fact that, after invading Iraq in 2003, the U.S. found massive amounts of uranium yellowcake, the stuff that can be refined into nuclear weapons or nuclear fuel, at a facility in Tuwaitha outside of Baghdad. In recent weeks, the U.S. secretly has helped the Iraqi government ship it all to Canada, where it was bought by a Canadian company for further processing into nuclear fuel—thus keeping it from potential use by terrorists or unsavory regimes in the region. This has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media. Yet, as the AP reported, this marks a ‘significant step toward closing the books on Saddam’s nuclear legacy.’ Seems to us this should be big news. After all, much of the early opposition to the war in Iraq involved claims that President Bush ‘lied’ about weapons of mass destruction and that Saddam posed little if any nuclear threat to the U.S. This more or less proves Saddam in 2003 had a program on hold for building WMD and that he planned to boot it up again soon...Saddam acquired most of his uranium before 1991, but still had it in 2003, when invading U.S. troops found the stuff... That means Saddam held onto it for more than a decade. Why? He hoped to wait out U.N. sanctions on Iraq and start his WMD program anew. This would seem to vindicate Bush’s decision to invade.” —Investor’s Business Daily

In 2001, I believed one of two things were true; either Saddam had weapons of mass destruction or he was going to get them. I'm astounded at the number of people today who claim that was not a valid position.

Me too, Frankcor. Me too! My friend in CA called me up after the story broke. He hates being wrong and called me a bastard for making him have to admit that for the past 5 years he has been wrong. Oh well, there's hope for him yet, lol!

When the dems saw Bush's favorability go through the roof after 9/11 they were determined to bury his presidency and legacy especially after 2000. They, with their fellow conspirators ABCNBCCBSCNNMSNBS, and the NT times, spoon fed the SHEEPLE (the ones who don't keep up with the news from other sources) and won the propaganda war. Did you know the original report from Joe Wilson was Saddam was looking to purchase yellowcake, according to the 9/11 Commission report but it is still stated by MSM as nothing found by Wilson.

Concerned, that was my point, precisely.
Yes, Wilum, I recall that. I also recal that Valerie Plame was not a covert agent and that Scooter Libby was convicted of perjury in an investigation regarding the revealing of her identity. Partisans take no prisoners these days.

What is really disgusting is that even now that the yellow cake is in the open, there is no coverage by the mainstream media. They are still intent on pushing their inaccurate agenda, and defaming the president of the United States. It is tough to admit when you are wrong, but our nations entire integrity, as well as the integrity of the office of President are at stake here.
I don't approve of many of Bush's actions, but he went to war under the impression that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He has been ridiculed and demeaned for the inability of inspectors to find those weapons. Now it comes to light that there was yellow cake in large amounts hidden in Iraq.
I believe there was also weapons of mass destruction, chemical and biological weapons and other nasty stuff, and that it was smuggled out of Iraq and into Syria and other places sympathetic to Saddam's regime.
While the democrats have been bordering on treason in their blatant demeaning of our president, SOMEBODY in the middle east has all of those weapons, and they will someday come back to bite us in the ass if they are not found.
I have never seen such an unprecedented political circus, in disregarding our country's integrity in order to seek revenge for a lost election. Patriots don't attack the office of President of the United States, whether they like to person holding the office or not. He was elected by the people, and it was obvious after the 2004 election that he was the man they wanted, over John Kerry.
Maybe if the Democrats field a candidate that is worth voting for, and that has the stuff to do the job, the hatred will not overpower voters, and force them to vote for a Republican candidate. Unfortunately, other than Joe Lieberman, I can't think of a Democrat that isn't embroiled in the bullshit of the party. Nancy Pelosi is leading the dems to destruction, and Ted Kennedy, and others are leading the charge toward eminent doom as a party.
The dems need to lose the "sore loser" attitude, and show America that they have an agenda other than simply "winning" an election.
I am not that crazy about McCain, but he has the correct idea for leaving Iraq victorious, or successfully. He may not be an economic genius, but that is why presidents surround themselves with experts within their cabinet.
I don't find Obama to be anything more than a dynamic speaker, and a new chance for a minority to hold the office. I laugh when I look at him. He is as much white as he is black. I have a deeper tan than he does and I am French Canadian.
His socialist past and his muslim affiliations, along with his relationship of the past with the radical preacher, Reverend Wright, tell me that he is not genuine in his rhetoric and his agenda is not what he claims it to be. His wife is a scarey character, and an obvious racist. Why would anyone want to put him in the whitehouse?

Neither did McCain! It will be interesting to see which of the stooges, Obama chooses for VP. Leiberman says he is not in contention, and he is the only sensible person on the Dem side of the aisle. HE will probably vote for McCain too!
