UTICA STREETS FLOODED, IMPASSABLE AS HEAVY RAIN CONTINUES UTICA,N.Y. -- A flash flood warning is in effect for southern Oneida and Herkimer counties until 11 p.m. Thursday night. The heavy rain has lead to difficult travel and road closures in the city of Utica. According to UPD, the following streets are impassable due to flooding: Lincoln and Sunset avenues north of Plant Street Genesee Steet between Tracy and Oswego streets Albany Street between Kossuth Avenue and Rutget Street Arterial between Oswego and Court streets With rain continuing throughout Thursday night, more roads may be closed to through traffic. UPD has resources deployed across the city to barricade and shut down flooded streets. People are advised to limit travel unless there is an emergency. Herkimer County has also put out an advisory for no unecessary travel in Frankfort, Schuyler, Newport and Middleville.
