I made a huge batch of Chicken Chili today and used by large Enamel Dutch Oven. I am either getting older by the day or this thing is getting heavy. Holy Cow. But I do like using it for anything tomato based.

You have my sympathy PB. We have an 8 or 10 quart Lodge cast iron dutch oven in the camper. Fill it and put the heavy lid on it, and you need a forklift to put it over the fire or on a burner. haha. We do chili in the slow cooker. I can't remember the last time we cooked anything in it over a fire.

I keep trying to persuade Barb that she needs to scale back her recipes. So many of them are to feed a family of six including 2-3 teens.

Kathy is the same way CB. We often have enough soup, chili, or spaghetti to feed a family of 4 or 5. We eat what we want, maybe freeze a bit for another meal, and then give quite a bit to my single buddy, recently divorced and living alone, or to my neighbors. When the weather turns colder we eat a lot of homemade soup, and stews. They can cook pretty much unattended all day long in the slow cooker and be ready whenever we are ready for supper.
