yahoo! It finally dropped into the low 80's this afternoon with a slight breeze so I was able to put the grass catcher bins on the tractor and run over most of the yard mulching up the leaves and hauling them across the road to the pile I have been making with all my leaves for the last few years. It usually takes me a little over an hour to mow the lawn but to mulch leaves and run back and forth to the field across the road to dump the bins took me three hours. Now the fall leaf season has started. I will be running over the yard with the tractor once or twice a week from now until the last leaf falls from the trees and in between the mowing and mulching, I will be having the young lad next door picking up bushels and bushels of walnuts so I can run the mower around.
It hs been so damned dry here that I had to wear a dust mask today. Tomorrow I will take the air filter element out and blow it out with air. It had to take a beating today.

I guess we also have a break. We used the down comforter last night and I dug out a sweatshirt today.

We were expecting heavy rain and thunder spotty heavy downpours in some places. Kathy and I were in Johnson City to shop and eat at Red Lobster. On the way home it rained. We stopped at the dollar store in Bristol, and stopped for gas. While we were getting gas it started to rain. It rained fairly heavy on our way home from there. We live about 3 miles from Bristol proper. It rained that entire 3 miles heavy enough to run the wipers on high. We live about 1/4 mile of Rt 126. It was raining when we turned onto our road and after we went about 100 yards the roads were as dry as a bone. What the heck. It is supposed to rain more during the night and there are heavy rains forecast for tomorrow so I am hoping that we get a good soaking rain. Enough to bring a bit of green back to the grass.

This is crazy but when I got up this morning at 10 AM it was freezing in my apartment. So I put the heat on 73 degrees to get the cold out. When I went out at 1 PM I thought it was real cold but it was warm. Go figure. Went for a walk and when I got back my apartment was so hot I had to put the air conditioner on to cool it down.
