That indeed sucks for everyone. I have to wonder why the person waiting wasn't situated in a place where the person lying in the road wouldn't get run over.

I wondered the same thing Ralph, unless the trooper just came over a hill or something and came upon the scene unexpectedly. I am sure that a report of someone laying in the road sparked a quick response. Unfortunately fate dictated that it didn't have the outcome that was expected. I can't imagine the horror of having to live with having run over and killing a fellow human being. That is the sort of thing that recurring nightmares is made of. Those images will never leave the trooper's mind.

Not a good memory to live with. Hopefully they will find he was already gone before he ran over him.
