Never thought there was such a thing. I have to try it. Savory Herb French Toast Makes 6 pieces Ingredients: 5 large eggs 1 cup whole milk 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard 2 teaspoons thinly sliced chives 2 teaspoons minced thyme 1 teaspoon minced oregano 1 garlic clove, minced 1 teaspoon ground coriander 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper 6 slices French bread, sliced on a bias (into 1 inch thick pieces) 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, divided fried eggs (cooked to your liking) microgreens Directions: 1. Place eggs, milk, mustard, herbs, garlic, spices, salt, and pepper into a shallow baking dish and whisk together. 2. Place a large skillet over medium heat, add 4 tablespoons butter and melt. Press 3 slices bread into the egg mixture to soak. Flip each slice and soak for about 1 minute. 3. Carefully transfer soaked bread slices to the hot skillet and sear for 3 to 4 minutes or until nicely browned. Flip each slice and continue to cook until browned and French toast has cooked through, an additional 3 to 4 minutes. 4. Remove the French toast slices from the pan and repeat steps 2 and 3 with the remaining bread slices. 5. Top each serving of French toast with a fried egg, sprinkle of salt and pepper and fresh micro greens. Serve.

That sounds real good PB. We had French toast just this morning but it was the sweet variety. I always make it with eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a sprinkle of nutmeg. We slathered it with butter and drizzled it with a bit of real maple syrup that we bought at the Amish store last week. Not what one would call a healthy breakfast but it darned sure was good. Added 4 sausage links apiece and a big mug of coffee and we were set until supper time.
Kathy's nephew and his girlfriend gifted us with an electric griddle a couple of years ago and French toast and pancakes is about the only thing we use it for. You can cook 6 or so slices of French toast or 8 small pancakes at a time.
Supper was easy peasy too. We got the weekly blast of junk mail and fast food coupons in the mail today. Yep, BK here we come. Supper was 20 chicken nuggets and fries for Kathy and BOGO whopper and fries for me. I am stuffed. I ate the whoppers but threw away about half of the fries.
Do they do a senior night at BK up there? I forgot what day it was and ran smack into the senior night crowd. Senior special every Wednesday is a whopper, fries and a drink for $3.99.

I think I mentioned that I was in religious life well one morning I made the sweet variety of french toast just like you Clipper but I thought I would treat the other Brother's so I added two shot glasses of bourbon. Boy were they good and did I ever get into trouble. LOL I can still see the expression on Brother Vincent's face as he was correcting me. Did I mention he was a Marine like forever!!!!!!!!! before entering. Pulled weeds along the front fence for a week on that one. HaHa Rest in Peace, Bro.
