Utica news last night the County people who administer these licencees are already having a big problem. They very well might be able to also vote in future elections since their is no way of determining if they are citizens. It will be a mess and some clerics have said they will not issue the licenses. One good think is that ICE is notified. HaHaHa

Running a small dairy farm is crazy hard work. We got on the train of regulating dairy production and price supports years ago and it will be very hard to get off. We end up buying surplus milk to make cheese to supply to the school lunch programs.
I certainly eat a lot of produce and would not look forward to price increases. However, how can we justify that someone working in a field should get lower wages and fewer benefits than someone working in a factory?
I also don't buy the argument that there are jobs that Americans won't do. I have hauled hay, cleaned toilets and worked in a turkey factory. We have people who do tough or unpleasant every day. I have never heard that hospitals can't hire aides unless they resort to undocumented immigrants. My wife, daughter and daughter-in-law all started as aides and moved up as they became more educated. Do you think that cleaning up an incontinent 200 lb patient is an easier job than working in a strawberry field/

This is a very tough time for local DMVs. They are already overloaded because NY was very late bringing our DLs into compliance with federal law. The day is approaching when people will not be able to use an old style NY DL to get on an airplane.
I got mine in January. I was sent a checklist of the documentation I would need to get a compliant DL. Basically I needed to prove that I was in the country legally, that I was who I said I was and that I lived where I said I did. Having dealt with life before I brought 2 documents to prove each. The three people who checked my paperwork all remarked that it was good to get someone who had everything in order. Apparently they get yelled at a lot by people who get sent home to find another piece of paper.
I can see a problem doing that with someone who is undocumented.

Last week I had to make 2 trips to the DMV on Main St. Utica. The first time I got there about 10 & there had to be 30 people in line. I walked out. The next day I went down there was probably 20. I bit the bullet, figured I'm here so I'll dealt with it. I spent nearly 2 hours in there to register a boat trailer that I'll use one time this season. It's ridiculous. From what i heard it's like that every day down there. The county does not have enough clerks down there & once this law goes into affect it will be a mad house down there.
I only registered the trailer so I can tow the boat to the tranfer station in N. Utica so they can dispose of it or i wouldn't have bothered. With my luck I'd get pulled over, issued a ticket & get fined $100. for an unregistered trailer.

NYS has made some changes which will reduce the workload and revenue for local DMVs. My car registration came due this month. I did not receive a written notice instead I got an email. I didn't see an option to print out a renewal just a button saying to renew push here.
I answered the questions, gave them a credit card # and got a screen saying "Here is your temporary registration, print it out and put it on your dashboard if your permanent registration doesn't arrive in time." It is still there.

Clipper your reply made me think of Nike. They use sweat shops in China to make their sneakers then sell at a huge inflated price and fill their pockets with the profits.
