Like I said to my Bus driver this morning. Take the Bus at least they can't fall out of the sky.

Boeing is probably the most prestigious aircraft manufacturer in the world. I believe the problems with the 737 Max stems from the cutbacks and downsizing that all the major companies are doing nowadays. When you skimp on quality, there's bound to be problems. Companies are supposed to grow, not cut back.
I remember products from when I was a kid that were built to last. Nowadays with so much plastic being substituted for metal, and companies using cheaper parts (usually coming from a foreign country where quality control isn't like it is here) products are destined to break down sooner, if not right away. I had a refrigerator that I kept my photographic film, paper, and certain chemicals in that my mom and dad bought before I was born. It was over 50 years old and still worked like a champ. There wasn't a bit of plastic in it. Try to find that today. So I'm not surprised that the 737 Max has some problems, and I'm pretty sure they come from lower quality parts, less experienced designers and laborers, and fewer inspectors. All for the sake of saving a buck.
I agree with Clipper that with so many lives depending on the integrity of an aircraft, it had better be the best airplane possible and not the most cost-effective one. A life is irreplaceable. Multiply that by the number of passengers a plane will hold and skimping on a plane's production is definitely not a viable alternative.

I can't get over how major corporations have sold out the Amercan worker for the cheap labor available in China & other third world hellholes.
