Pope Francis made history this morning when he celebrated Mass for more than 135,000 Catholics from many nations and cultures at the Zayed Sports stadium in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

This Pope is taking on many different problems from reaching out in peace to the muslims to addressing the sexual abuse of nuns by priests and other higher ranking clergy in the church. www.uticaod.com/news/20190208/us-nuns-urge-changes-to-church-structure-to-address-abuseIt seems that it is a problem that remained hidden for many years and is not seeing the daylight and being addressed. I am not a practicing Catholic, but I very much like this Pope.

I am sure the Nun's know enough to not hold their breathe waiting. The Catholic community in Saudi has constantly been plagued with hatred and abuse. They are forbidden to wear any kind of identification on them in public that points to them being Christian, ex. no crosses etc around neck. It is a shame. But we show we are Christians by our love and they cannot take that away.

I found it rather alarming to hear that Benedict had to dissolve an entire order of nuns in France due to the sex abuse problem.

I didn't know about that one, wow! I remember a very young Nun I taught with at a school in Syracuse. I remember her telling me one day that the Nun's don't really accept her because they said she had very large boobs. If I had false teeth I would have spit them out. As a side thought she was very pretty and correct on the boobs.

Many years ago when Kathy, now 79 was in grade school at St Josephs, there was a pretty young nun that left the order and married the custodian, but that is the first time I had heard of priests abusing nuns.
