It began yesterday. In the morning the browser worked fine. When I went on line last night I got the error message and nothing would open.
Error message: DNS name does not exist Error code: INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND
Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it? I have had to go back to Firefox in order to get on line.

As you said, weird.
Best suggestion I have is to reboot computer, router and cable box (if separate from the computer). Can you go on-line normally with your tablet?

Pray. Obviously your computer is fine just Chrome doesn't want to load. I would delete Chrome then download and install it again. You can always import your bookmarks to the new Chrome installment.

It was Microsoft edge that I was having the problem with PB, but deleting it and reinstalling it corrected the problem. Not only did it correct the problem, but it responds much quicker than it did before. Go Figure. I did disconnect my router for 30 seconds and reboot the computer, but could not reboot the cable box because with our new provider there IS no box. It is a direct fiber optic connection.
Thanks for the help. These computers are the work of the devil I tell ya, hahaha.

I don't think you're in cahoots with the devil, Clipper. Like me, I think it's just a matter of an old dog learning new tricks. It may take a while, but it can be done.

You are probably right about that Kit. Thank goodness I have a good support system in CB, Ralph, and others on the forum, my youngest son, and the gal across the road, who are all much more computer savvy than I.
Whatever the heck was going on, when it was corrected by simply rebooting and the computer is operating at warp speed now, as they promised it would when we subscribed to the fiber optic system and dumped Charter/Spectrum.
