moonrunner.proboards.com/Just kickin around Proboards this morning and found an interesting recipe forum. I found this recipe for soft chocolate chip cookies in the Amish cooking section. Kathy is going to make some with both chocolate and butterscotch chips to take to the bowling alley on Thursday. Our little unsanctioned fun league is small, only 8 teams of 4 bowlers. It is an invitational league of couples and the gals often bring snacks to pass. I have only browsed around the Amish cooking so far, but it looks like a great site for most any sort of recipe you might be looking for. I bought frozen hash browns the other day to make a side dish casserole using the hash browns, onion, shredded cheese and cream of mushroom soup. I saw this recipe on the forum and we are going to try it today or tomorrow. moonrunner.proboards.com/thread/4082/cracker-barrel-country-store-brownsI love hash brown potatoes and they are not just for breakfast. I could eat hash browns with any meal. We occasionally do frozen hash browns with onions for a supper dish. Kathy puts them in a deep skillet with bacon fat or butter, dices onions, a sprinkling of Lawry's seasoned salt, paprika, and fresh cracked pepper. She doesn't cook them on high heat or brown them. She simply cooks them, stirring and turning often until they are soft and cooked but not brown and crispy. This food forum looks like it will be fun to follow and the selection and variety of recipes looks very interesting and plentiful.
