www.wktv.com/content/news/Lawn-Mower-Driver-arrested-for-DWI-in-Camden-490091421.htmlThis story reminded me of a fellow about 80 yrs old that used to come into the VFW post in Stittville. He had lost his license for DWI so he would come to the post on his lawn tractor with a little garden cart in tow. He would drink from early afternoon until 6 or 7 at night, and then would stagger out the door and head down Route 291 on his lawn tractor. He had a little flashing red light on the back of his cart that was meant for a bicycle. He would have his cart loaded up with his prizes from the punch boards, his boombox radio, and his 12 pack of Genesee beer to tide him over until the next day's trip to the VFW. He lived on the old river road. He would go down 291 to the Benton Rd, cut across to the old river road and go West to his house. He was caught when he stopped to pee in the middle of the road by a sheriff's deputy and blew 3 times the limit. After that he would have someone drop him off and when he was ready to go home one of us fellow veterans would drive him home and make sure he got into the house safely.
