What are they investigating?- Sounds like SIDs to me.

The parent(s) were not there. I would hate to be the relative watching, but they investigate this type of thing as an "unattended death". It may not be suspicious in nature, but questions do have to be answered before they can just throw that SIDS label on it.
In the ways of the world today, I would rather investigate and answer all the questions a thousand times for nothing, than I would to not do it once, and find out I should have the hard way.
My condolences go out to the family. We recently had a co-worked in one of our stores lose one as well about the same age. Nothing I would ever want to endure.

There was a co-worker of my wife's that had a Nephew die from SIDS. Although this is a necessary investigation it is not easy on the family during the ordeal. They were not allowed in the baby's room or to have any article (baby's blanket) from the room. The family along with most families did not understand and the Police Department left a bad image in their minds that can never be erased or convinced other wise.
You would think they would have someone to sit with the family to help explain and answer questions along the way. Poor community relations from the Police Department.
