www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Fr.+John+Bartunek%2c+LC+Legionaries+of+Christ&view=detail&mid=EE742C96E0F29A28E8E7EE742C96E0F29A28E8E7&FORM=VIREI was in search of excerpts from the book and came across this biographical youtube video of Father Bartunek's journey from atheist to Catholic priest. What a great and inspiring story. IS prayer relevant today? Probably more so today than ever. I just can't imagine not having a belief in a higher power and a creator of all we see around us. I myself am far from pious or religious, but I have over the years developed a deep faith in the power of prayer through experiences in my life that I can only attribute to a merciful God, and although I am a sinner who has committed many transgressions over the years and still do, I find inner peace in praying and speaking to the Lord. The majority of my prayers are for others that are in need of God's intervention, but I do often pray for guidance in my own life. Everyone either has their own religious beliefs, or no religious beliefs at all. To each their own. Most seem to think that their own personal religious doctrine is the only pathway to heaven. My particular beliefs run toward believing in the simple premise that we need to follow the Lord and live a life relatively free from major sin. I take an interest in hearing about or reading about many different viewpoints from people of many various religious backgrounds. When I first tried to google his book "The Quiet Place", it kept taking me to threads about the latest horror movie by the same title. I had to get there via googling Father John Bartunek and then find reference to his book and his bio.
