concerned, i wish I could be a fly on the wall at your next counseling session.
I suppose getting you to go to the next Woodstock is out of the question at this point.

frankcor I stayed in my apartment for three days then got up enough nerve to at least go outside for about 15 minutes. I was petrified that something would happen. But nothing did. I did thing for a moment that a pigion would most likely shit on my head. lol

Agoraphobia is a very "real" and terrifying thing. I have an aunt that didn't leave her home for over 5 years. She would have a panic attack if she went to a grocery store. If she walked to the mail box, she wasn't comfortable until she returned to the house and closed the door.
She managed to achieve a "cure" over a period of time, through therapy.
I sympathize with your condition Concerned. Just be confident, that you can overcome the problem with help. My aunt was here last summer, and now lives in Atlanta, and shops in malls, attends church, and enjoys a "normal" life.
By the way, unless the pigeon is constipated, pigeon shit won't hurt you when it strikes you. It simple smells bad and leaves a stain on your clothing. I suppose a constipated pigeon would be an item of concern to the general public though. I can't imagine walking past Grace church and being pelted with little white, stinging projectiles falling from the sky.
Since having a reaction to CAT scan dye, and going into arrest in a CAT scan machine, I am extremely clausterphobic in tight places. I absolutely cannot handle being confined to a CAT scanner or MRI machine. I am not comfortable in an elevator or any closed space. I don't normally panic, but I am extremely uncomfortable when the doors close on an elevator, and can't wait for it to open again, so I can get a breath of fresh air.
Conditions of the mind, are very real, and very unnerving. Hang in there my friend. You will succeed in conquering the problem if you are strong and determined to do so.

thanks clipper. Yeah Grace Church has its problems. And thanks for the laugh.
Ironically I have a CAT scan scheduled for June 3. I am praying that all works out. I got myself psyched up for it and ready to go.

If you are at all anxious about the CAT scan, they tell me that one can be medicated prior to going into the tube, and it will allay your anxiety. Good luck, and hang in there!

I don't know if there's enough heroin to get me in a closed MRI.

they wouldn't use heroin. they'd use a tranquilizer powerful enough to render a 3 ton elephant unconcious for 6 hours. not that i'm implying you're 3 tons, just that if you have that quick of a recovery rate from drugs, you'll need a lot. when i had my wisdom teeth taken out, because i was so physically fit from swimming, the anesthesiologist said that he had to administer so much to me that at one point because my pulse at rest was considerably low, he thought he killed me. imagine the look on my mother's face when the doctor comes out bragging how much knock out gas he had to give me that he thought he killed his patient. lol
