They weren't predicting this! And people think the south is sunny and warm!
Ok, when they predict even a flurry of snow everyone goes nuts. I wonder if they'll shut down the schools tomorrow. I hope not. Tomorrow is already a half day as it is and I have stuff to get done in the morning!

It's fun to watch the weather move through on weather.com's Interactive Weather Map. I even got it to work ... slowly ... when I was on dialup.

Right now, 9:40 pm est, I can see snow around Greensboro, NC. Rain and a mix of sleet is north of you, up around High Point. And it looks like you've had all the weather you're going to get tonight. The moisture is to the north and east of you and it's beginning to clear to your southwest.

Awww, that's it? I was hoping we'd get a surprise foot of snow! That'd make for some great sledding! :-) Oh well.

Nope. You'll be sunny and 57 degrees tomorrow. Lucky girl, you can drive out and get Krispy Kremes.

We had about an inch and a half and....SCHOOL WAS CANCELED! My son gets a day off. Of course snow days aren't built into the year here, so they'll have to make it up at a later date. Oh well, we're gonna go sledding before this melts! It IS supposed to be warm and sunny today so this won't last long! Snow pictures are on my blog if you want to see what people down here get all excited about. ;-)

Happy for you, Kim, but either I have our location wrong (Charlotte) or the Weather Channel was WAY wrong.

We're in Greensboro, which is about 2 hours east of Charlotte. We're supposed to be 50 and sunny today, and it's already warming up, so this won't be here long. We've been out sledding and now we're in for a quick pee break, before heading out again! This is fun!

Man, I remember in Michigan, the entire city, except my school was shut down for 4 inches of snow. FOUR INCHES! Oh well.
I miss the days when we would have feet of snow. When I was 10-ish, we would get so much snow, I could walk up on top of my parents' ranch-style house roof and jump off into the snow on the other side of the house. So much fun. We could actually tunnel through the snow on the ground. It was such a blast.
