I also would bet that the city bought out his contract. I guess he wants to go to Schenectady, and it is fine with me. I guess we will pay for Julian's stupidity in hiring him to begin with, and then the golden parachute he will leave with in a "buy out".

It is a shame that he isn't different. He has a world of law enforcement knowledge and experience, but he is overcome with conceit, arrogance, and attitude. He really needs a personality transplant, and a little bit of the chip knocked off his shoulder.

Troopers are very good at what they do but inner city policing and running an inner city department isnt one of them..its different work altogether and this guy was the wrong choice from day one...there were better qualified people within the dept that should have been promoted.

I always say, "be careful what ya wish for, and I wouldn't celebrate till you hear who replaces him. I gave Pylman credit for ridding the city of the Rotunda's regime which was much needed but with the new Mayor I'm starting to see some of the old names popping up and that's not such a good thing. We can always go from bad to worse.

I am also happy that Pylman may be leaving. I know a lot of UPD officers that do not care for the way he runs or treats people.. However.. who could replace him.. let me guess one of Dave's friends or family? Please thank god it won't be labella he already got "placed" somewhere... Let's all just pray that it is someone that will do UPD and us good NOT harm

Well Labella is interim police cheif... Why? I hate this.. We knew it was going to happen.. but it doesn' t say why pylman resigned does anyone know?? So he supposdely wanted to retire.. So the City of utica will be giving him a payout of 249,000 before taxes so about 180,000 after taxes to get him out of his contract..... Benzo should be next cheif NOT Labella

Why not offer a civil service test for the position of Police Chief like in the past, and then take one in the top three, what the Mayor of Utica is attempting to do now is totally Political in nature and rediculous. Every time a new mayor is elected you get a new Chief, what a joke, why not just have an election for Police Chief, Better yet let the Sheriff run the department, he is already elected. I think Deputy Chief Benzo should be the Chief, he is already there and passed the last Chief's test.
Politics as usual. same nightmare, different boogieman .

Lefty I agree with you 100% but then if Roefaro kept it a civil service test his best friend could not be cheif.. It is a bunch of bull.....I seriously ask myself everyday why i bought a house in Utica.. I love Utica but am sick of the bs...
