Quite Fun- Kind of Expensive- and if I was to do it again I would just buy my own boat and go so that I could be on the water longer than a few Hours. I was with a group of 12 and we were in the "ducks" so there was 2 people per boat. Most of us did not have any experience but we all did pretty good- got stuck on the rocks a bunch of times- No One Died and No One ended up swimming. www.whitewaterchallengers.com/moose/moose-whitewater.aspWe were on the The Middle Moose River trip.

Sounds like a lot of fun Ryan! I used to fish those sections of the moose river years ago. It can be pretty wild when the water is a little high in the spring. A friend of mine and I had a primitive campsite about a mile down the moose river road from Rt 28 at McKeever. We spent many wonderful times there fishing and camping out.

Ryan, you kids really scare the crap out of me with this stuff. My son and his wife go whitewater rafting all the time and they think it's great. I didn't think much about it till they made the mistake of showing me a video of their last trip showing my son bouncing out of the raft and going under it. They thought it was funny because in the video you could actually see him clawing at the bottom of the raft. Thank God he is very athletic and a strong swimmer and managed to get back in the raft. As a mother I didn't think it was funny and told them my opinion of what they thought was fun. They were also told Not to let me know if and when they were going again. I don't need my heart taxed because of their whim for excitement. Can't y'all find something a little safer to enjoy?

I haven't been swimming in years- I wonder if I could still do it? Seriously- This wasn't really bad at all though and I would love to do it again. Really I would love to get a kayak and just go around the more calmer waters- I would get one if it wasn't for the fact that all my money basically gets directly deposited into the Colleges account- and at this point I don't know of anyone who would want go anyways who's not annoying.

Ryan, kayaking is great no matter where you go. ;D You can get close to shore and in the lagoons to check out all the wild life. Have two myself and we always use them. Best investment I ever made for entertainment. Plus, they are VERY cheap to buy, very light to carry, no trailer needed, no gas to buy, no registrations, no insurance needed and no launching fees. Just park your car wherever, put your kayak in and enjoy. If you live in this area, within 10 minutes, you can be near the water. Try it, I promise you, you will love it. And it's much safer.

Ryan, just wanted to let you know that Herb Philipson's has a good sale on kayaks this week. ;D If you're on a strict budget you get a really decent one for under $300. Thought you'd like to know.

Ryan the best time to go white water rafting is when the water is up then you won't get stuck on the rocks! Early Spring! Of Course you need a wet suit.....or your going to get cold. I go and it is great fun! My sister and her boyfriend have there own boats(rafts). We go to Salmon river in Pulaski, The Moose, Hudson and Fish Creek up in taberg. We have also done the Black. My sister worked for White water challengers a couple of years ago. Once you go you get hooked! We went to Paddle fest this past Saturday in Old Forge they had some nice kayaks. If you are serious about kayaking check out Tickners in old forge. You can rent some kayaks and go down the moose for the day and if you like the boat and decide what kind you want to buy. It is a cheap and fun day. have Fun and Welcome to the Wonderful World of White Water Rafting!
