I think that the racism has gotten totally out of hand in that area of the country. For some reason, there is a concentration of blacks there who have no regard for law and order. It is a strange phenomenon but has been a fact of life for many years. Way back in the 80's I traveled to the area while my oldest son was in the hospital at George Washington University's Pediatric Cancer Center. I made a wrong turn and ended up crossing a bridge into East St Louis Illinois. A policeman actually stopped me, asked me what I was doing in the area, told me that it was not safe for a white tourist to be there, and literally escorted me back to the bridge ramp back to the Missouri side. I was also told to stay in our hotel and not wander around the neighborhood where we were staying after dark. The Holiday Inn actually had a security guard walk the off going employees to their cars after dark. The only other place I had ever seen that done was at the Holiday Inn in Hartford Ct.
It is a sad state of affairs when the black population in an area makes it unsafe for a law abiding white person to venture out. It is even sadder to know that there is a racist majority on a city council that allows and participates in the firing of police officers that make legitimate arrests of a council person's drug dealing, woman beating, scumbag son.
Are the St Louis area, and other areas of the country reaching a point in our history when black crime and false allegations against police will prevent enforcement of law when the suspected perpetrator is black? I have to think that in this particular instance a deeper look at the council will show that it is a black majority that runs the city, and obviously, there is a bias against police and their interference with the criminal activity if it involves a council person's family member.
This sort of thing is going on right before our eyes. Statistics prove that black on white crimes far outnumber white on black, and yet people like Al Sharpton still blame whites for the race problems and allege unfair treatment of blacks by police.
Where was Eric Holder and our president while this sort of injustice was being perpetrated against police officers who simply were performing the duties they are paid to perform?
