So back to the subject of the thread. Where are you Kit? Haven't seen any new posts lately.
Jon, Dave, sorry to have wandered with the most successful and longest running thread on the forum.
By the way, Willum, we haven't heard from you lately either.

Jon,
Yes, it was Grippe’s. I lived in Frankfort from 1945 to 1951. Okay, I’m old, but couldn’t go into Grippe’s, nor the Club Royale back then. My dad ran a gas station on the corner of Main St. and Reese Rd. After we moved it was remodeled and turned into Grippe’s Hairstyling Warehouse. It has since been torn down, the name of the street has changed and so has the house number we lived in next door. Quite a historic house in our family and a story that goes along with it.
Joe Fanelli played in the UC and MVCC bands for a long time before he died and I knew him and Cynthia quite well. Right up until the end Joe had the band The Fanelli Five + 1 (Cynthia was the +1) and they played for many of our formal ballroom dances. I never knew until I saw your post what her maiden name was.
I photographed a birthday party for a gal several years ago in the back room of what used to be called Grippe’s but it had a different name at the time. Can’t remember it. But thanks for digging up this information and sharing about The Bel Aires and other bands as well as the poop on Dale Ryder.

Welcome Chuck. I think you might remember me. I’m the Spartan photograher that took the picture of Eric and the Chessmen that’s on Page 24 of this thread. If you can jump over to that page, is that Wayne Bowling the drummer? I did a lot of photo work for Gene Kipper in 65 and 66 photographing his various bands.
If he had a couple of fingers missing, Frank’s last name was Roberts, and Emil’s last name is Warchol. Maybe I’m wrong but didn’t you marry one of the Donovan girls from here in New Hartford? Anyway, it’s nice to have you aboard and you’ll find a wealth of band nostalgia right here. These guys are GOOD.
Oh, and by the way - forget about the farts and toilets. They must have slipped in from another website.

I never knew Slivers real name - not sure anyone did - he liked to be called Slivers and that was that! Slivers real name was Dick Matrassi

Jon, were you with us when we played the Memorial Auditorium, opening for a tour? I remember Dionne, minus the Belmonts, and the Crickets, minus Buddy Holly. And the guy who recorded Party Doll, buddy somebody.

Here he is, Buddy Knox. He was the only friendly name act on the tour. Dionne kept walking by the stage doors to get the 13 year olds to scream. You'd think he would have been tired of it by then. I figured I looked as good as Dionne at that age, so I walked by the doors to see what would happen. Not much. Celebrity is everything! Hahahah.

Clipstermeister,
I'm all for a get-together. When you get ahold of Kim and let her know about it, she'll get in touch with me.

I get ahold of Kim at least once a day, haha. She is a ray of sunshine in every day here at the clipper household. I love her blog and her postings on here. She is going to be a major player in helping me get this thing going, as she is in all activity here at the corner.
Can't wait to meet you and Kim's parents along with all the others that I will get to see face to face. I am getting excited already, anticipating our annual pilgrimage back to Utica and the Mohawk Valley.
