And at one time we thought power-hungry people might be good bringing home the bacon from Washington. Guess they ate it on the way.

Andy's girlfriend is Sandra Lee from Food Network's program "Semi Homemade." He may be bringing home the groceries and Sandra is the one that will be responsible for "cooking your proverbial goose" for him. Any bacon that he brings home is most likely consumed either in Albany or NYC. You won't get a sniff of it upstate.

I need a suggestion for the written equivalent of "This is so ... I'm left speechless!" Preferably one which does not require me to substitute asterisks for many of the letters.

You can always let it all hang out and put it up there, and then hit "preview." You then will know if it is a forbidden term or not, and if so, the forum will automatically change the word to something a little more acceptable, lol. I wonder if we put ALL asterisks, stars, and other symbols up there with NO letters and hit preview, if a cuss word will pop up? I have to admit to the same "speechless" thing. When I read some of this stuff I simply sit and shake my head in disbelief.

Well, I supposed if you were going to say something like "f**ked up," you could use dyspareunia or maybe dyspareunial is an adjective form. Anyway, I doubt if the proboards filter will catch that one.

Should we make that the word of the day? It would be interesting to see if the adjective form has any staying power.

Does Prince Andrew actually have the authority to fire any sherriff or is he just blowing hot air?
How much is the Prince milking the taxpayer's for when he & his galpal fly back & forth from Albany & downstate on a state owned helicopter? Yep, we the suckers, er taxpayer's are footing the bill for Sir Andrew & Miss Sara so they can spend weekends in her ocean front mansion. Of course the Prince's policy of doing more with less doesn't apply to the privileged few like Sir Andy.

The relevant parts of the state constitution appear to be Article XIII, Section 5 & 13. Section 5 reads. Provision shall be made by law for the removal for misconduct or malversation in office of all officers, except judicial, whose powers and duties are not local or legislative and who shall be elected at general elections, and also for supplying vacancies created by such removal.
Malversation is corrupt conduct.
A portion of Section 13 reads: The governor may remove any elective sheriff, county clerk, district attorney or register within the term for which he or she shall have been elected; but before so doing the governor shall give to such officer a copy of the charges against him or her and an opportunity of being heard in his or her defense.
I don't know how these provisions apply to the situation described. I'm sure there are plenty of lawyers in the state to support either side.

Clipper,
To protect yourself, I suggest you start blocking any references to guns, pistols, rifles, shotguns, etc. Just in case someone is watching us... lol

Cuomo get everything he wants, did you all notice that. Look how fast the Oneida Nations Casino movement was approved. The votes by both Counties where just a formality cause it is all approved.
