Isn't this a good thing for the milk farmers. I would think so cause they make more money. This is the Bill that contains all the very steep cuts in food stamps and even HEAP benifits. What does heating ones apartment or house for the elderly on fixed incomes have to do with farming. Schumer voted in favor of this bill and needs to seriously rethink his voting. I am all for helping out the farmers but we don't need the huge cuts in food Stamps or heating allowance. By the was they changed the name of food stamps to SNAP-Supplemental Nutrition Allowence Program just to confuse us.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Senator Charles Schumer says milk prices in stores across New York could double if the Farm Bill isn't renewed.
Schumer says the nation will start to revert to 1940s era agriculture policy if a new Farm Bill isn't passed soon. The National Milk Producers Federation says government purchases of dairy products under the outdated law could cause milk prices to rise above $6 per gallon.
The Farm Bill is enacted every five to seven years and provides farm and food policy for America. The 2012 Farm Bill passed the Senate on June 21 by a bipartisan vote of 64 to 35, but it remains stalled in the House of Representatives. The 2008 Farm Bill was set to expire on Sept. 30.
