(from somewhere on the World Wide Web.)
This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format:
Q. What is an Economic Stimulus Payment? A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.
Q. Where will the government get this money? A. From taxpayers.
Q. So the government is giving me back my own money? A. No, they are borrowing it from China. Your children are expected to repay the Chinese.
Q. What is the purpose of this payment? A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV set, thus stimulating the economy.
Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China? A. Shut up.

Dave this is good stuff right here. If there were ever a more true statement uttered I would challenge someone to find it. In the total actuality of it all, they, the Government is going to give the tax payers a whole whoppin 13$ in each paycheck for the next year. I am not sure about anyone else, but I know I have huge plans for that money. I am going to go out and buy 3 Swansons frozen dinners and have a hey day once a week. Woo Hoo!

In lieu of paying taxes, you could just say "I forgot" or "TurboTax didn't prompt me for that."

Oh wait, Steve Martin already thought of the "I forgot" line ... You.. can be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes! You can be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes! You say.. "Steve.. how can I be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes?" First.. get a million dollars. Now.. you say, "Steve.. what do I say to the tax man when he comes to my door and says, 'You.. have never paid taxes'?" Two simple words. Two simple words in the English language: "I forgot!" How many times do we let ourselves get into terrible situations because we don't say "I forgot"? Let's say you're on trial for armed robbery. You say to the judge, "I forgot armed robbery was illegal." Let's suppose he says back to you, "You have committed a foul crime. you have stolen hundreds and thousands of dollars from people at random, and you say, 'I forgot'?" Two simple words: Excuuuuuse me!!"

All I know is that I will be more than filled with joy to get my $ 250. check in May. Small when you think of all the wealthy that are screwing this government and economy. I only wish Obama could give us the original $ 1,000. And I don't have to pay income tax on any of it.
I have many so called family members who are in the business field and financial market( not in Utica, they were smart and moved out after college and graduate school) that make money all kinds of ways and I am sure most will find a financial windfall in whatever small loss they had to endure in this bleak economy. Just don't ask to borrow $ 50. bucks from them. They have that great attitude" If ya don't earn it then the hell with ya".lol
