I think I caught something and the hospital and I'm trying desperately not to give it to Stephen. That's the last thing he needs. I wish I could stop coughing.

That would seem next to impossible. What's the doc think you can do to prevent Stephen getting it?

I would think cutting off all contact with Stephen and his environment would be the only sure way. And that's likely to cause the little guy more grief than getting sick again.
I'm sending you both healing light and love, Kim and Stephen.

Mine started with a cough and went downhill from there. My doctor said it wasn't the flu but mimics the flu. Some new virus that is appearing for some reason. It is sneaky all of a sudden after 5 days you feel good and then the next day all hell breaks out. Wait until you see what you cough up, yuks. The congestion and headache come and go. Stay warm and good luck. I'm still hacking and its day 15

Go see YOUR doctor and don't fool with it. There are some nasty bugs going around, and one of them is a hard to shake upper respiratory thing. I would not worry too much about Stephen with all the antibiotics he is getting. Just be real cognizant of the hand washing thing, and use lots of tissues. Get some oust or lysol spray and keep the house sprayed. Hell, if you are really worried, you can always wear one of those throw away masks when you are going to be in close proximity to him. Don't worry yourself to death kiddo. Stephen is not that fragile, especially with all the antibiotics, so you most likely aren't going to infect him with anything.
Go see your doctor, and get the necessary medical treatment, and the reassurances that will comfort your concerns. Hang in there kiddo. I am sure that you simply wore yourself down with lack of sleep and the stress while hanging out at the hospital. I had a nurse the night of my surgery that was coughing an hacking, and I simply told her that I would appreciate it if she would wear a mask, and gloves when around me, that I did not need to catch something that would cause me to cough with staples in my back. She complied. I also reported it to the hospital admin when I left. I don't think a nurse should be allowed to work with patients when they are hacking and coughing, and obviously sick as dogs. Good way to give some elderly and susceptible person a fatal case of pneumonia. Hospitals are incubators of all the "nasties" that are going around. If you knew what everyone around you was ailing from, you would probably jump out of bed and sign yourself out, haha.

Oh wow Kim, I feel so bad for you. I was so hoping your problems would ease up a little. Just wish we could wiggle our noses and all would be back to normal for you, Stephen and all in your household. I guess the old saying, "when it rains it pours" is where you are now. I'll keep offering up my prayers for y'all in hopes for sunny days ahead and all your health problems ceasing up. This is an old remedy but in my household we still use it and to the surprise of many it definitely works. Gargle with a little glass of warm water and "a lot" of salt every chance you get allowing just a "few" drops to fall down the back of your throat each time you gargle. Do this as often as possible and I will guarantee you it will work to ease up the cough and keep the throat for getting sore. I hope you start feeling better soon, sweetie.

Chloraseptic spray or it's generic equivalent. It kills anything in the throat area that is sore or tickly. It also tastes like crap, haha. Get lots of fresh air. Get outside, and air out the house when the air is fresh and the weather is warm enough to have the windows open for a while.

I've found that when i start feeling really bad, aspirin helps. Not sure why. Anyway, it's aspirin every 4 hours for me, and some non-drowsy cough syrup as well!
I seem to have picked up what everyone around here has. Everyone is sick!

I'm hoping that whatever I have is, in fact, bacterial, because there is no way in hell Stephen could catch it with the antibiotic pharmacy he's having pumped directly into his blood stream!
