There are cases where the records should be eligible for sealing on a case by case basis. That procedure is already on the books.

Her catch and release policy of turning offenders loose on their own recognizance while adjudicating their cases is radical enough in my estimation. A blanket wiping the slate clean is one more step that pampers criminals. New Yorkers better get rid of her before she just opens the doors and lets everyone out of prison with the exception those convicted of rape, murder, or kidnapping out of prison.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea for single offenders who pay their debt to society, lead productive lives & stay out of trouble for a few years. But for repeat offenders? No way.
