I was outside most of today replacing some deck boards & noticed a distinctive odor of smoke in the air. Not really strong but noticable. Not to mention haze in the sky which is still there.

We must not be under the haze from the Canadian fires any more. The last couple of days have seen tall and fluffy white clouds and bright blue skies. I has been hot. It was in the mid to high 80s one day last week.

Canadian air is blowing the smoke right into the Mohawk Valley the weatherman this AM on Channel 10 said this will continue for a few days and that today will be bad and we should be able to smell smoke. I had to use my rescue inhaler 3 times yesterday so I will make sure to carry it with me today. Need to buy a few groceries.....

I spoke too soon. Today we are once again inundated with the smokey haze from the wildfires in Canada and air quality is not good for those with pulmonary issues such as asthma.
I just went out to the grocery store and the haze is so heavy that we can barely see the high peaks of the Blue Ridge. We normally have a very scenic and clear view of the mountains. If I look down the road the haze even reduces visibility closer up.

I was at Kellogg Mall and you can see the smoky haze and smell an odd odor in the air that makes it hard to breath. I was lucky to find a mask in my mans purse that did help when I was outside.
Right now as I look out my picture window in living room the daylight has a weird yellow tint to it. I cannot tell if the sun is shining due to the heavy smoky haze. What's next.....

Yep, despite a steady breeze today the smoke odor was noticeable & the haze could clearly be seen. I worked on the deck again & wore a sweatshirt, I thought it was rather cool.
A nasty t- storm in the middle of the night woke me up from a sound sleep. But we got some much needed rain.

Apparently, there are over 200 wildfires right now burning in Canada. It's going to be one hell of a summer if they're not extinguished. And the only thing that's going to do it is Mother Nature with some drenching downpours.
I'm waiting for Trump to blame Canadians for not raking the forest.

After school outdoor activities, as well as little league practice and games, along baseball games scheduled for our local Appalachian League farm teams were canceled to be rescheduled when the air quality improves, and people are being encouraged to stay inside as much as possible. It drizzled all day today so it was hard to determine what was clouds and what was smokey haze.
