A mass shooting tied to an Alabama birthday party leaves 4 people dead and a ‘multitude of injuries’

A mass shooting tied to a birthday party has left four people dead and a “multitude” of injuries in Dadeville, Alabama, state officials said.



The shooting happened around 10:34 p.m. Saturday, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Sunday.



“It was tied to a birthday party,” Sgt. Jeremy J. Burkett said. “There were four lives tragically lost in this incident, and there’s been a multitude of injuries.”



Burkett declined to provide more details, citing the ongoing investigation.


“What we’ve dealt with is something that no community should have to endure,” Dadeville Police Chief Jonathan L. Floyd said Sunday.



“I also ask each of you please do not let this moment define what you think about the city of Dadeville and our fine people.”


Dadeville, population 3,000, is about 45 miles northeast of Montgomery.



Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey publicly sent her condolences to the community. “This morning, I grieve with the people of Dadeville and my fellow Alabamians,” Ivey said in a statement to CNN.


“Violent crime has NO place in our state, and we are staying closely updated by law enforcement as details emerge.”



The Alabama shooting happened the same day that shots were fired into a crowd at a park in Louisville, Kentucky. Two people were killed and four others were wounded.



The US has suffered at least 162 mass shootings in the first 15 weeks of 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive. That’s an average of more than 1.5 mass shootings every day so far this year.



The archive defines mass shootings as those in which four or more people are shot, excluding the shooter.

Notice how the right wing rants & raves about fentanyl & blames Biden but whenever there's a mass shooting with multiple deaths not a peep out of them? Oh wait, they do offer "thought and prayers" like Ivey just did. This is what happens when politicians are bought off by the NRA & the gun manufacturers lobby.

Before long they'll be another shool shooting, 8 year olds will die & we'll hear the good old "thought and prayers" bs from people like Ivey & Ted Cruz.

There has to be an answer to solve this puzzle with the 2nd Amendment. Because all it does is give anyone the right to kill in these mass shootings or just plain ole drive by shootings like it is the wild wild west. People like this who shoot other people have no conscience so I doubt the 2nd amendment even means anything to them.

There was another killing in Washington County north of Albany yesterday. A group of young people were driving around looking for a friend's house & apparently were lost. They pulled into a driveway of the wrong house when some 65 year old deranged cowboy fires off a couple rounds at the car, killing a 20 year old young woman. So her life is over & her family is devastated because of some idiot with a gun.

He's being charged with 2nd degree murder which is exactly what he deserves. This is what happens when paranoid jackasses are allowed to own a gun. The American people are being conditioned to live in fear so that the gun manufacturers lobby, the NRA & bought & paid for politicians like Ted Cruz can arm as many people as they can. 

That young woman did nothing wrong & now her life is over because of some gun toting idiot. And he's liable to spend the rest of his life in Great Meadow Prison which is a stone's throw of where the incident took place.

I read about that BHU . I wonder how his lawyers will be handling this case. First question is was he in fear at that invasion upon his property thus using his gun for protection. I worry how this will be argued in court!!!!!!

His lawyers can argue that he was in fear but it will do him no good. In fear of what? The occupants of the car never approached the house. For all he knew they could have been off duty police or a car full of nuns. Like I said the American people are being conditioned to live in fear by Fox News hacks, the NRA, the gun lobby & right wing fringe politicians like that louse Jim Jordan who was in N.Y.C. ranting & raving about crime in that city when in fact the crime rate down there is actually lower then major cities in HIS own state. But of course he did that just to impress the Mar A Lago document thief & traitor.

I'll bet money that the Bozo who killed that young woman thought that Antifa or BLM were coming for him after watching Jordan & that crew running their yaps.
