I guess circulation must be dropping for the Observer Dispatch. I just subscribed to get the paper on-line and only paid $22 for TWO YEARS. Wow. Regular subscribers must pay more than that by the month.
I had previously subscribed on a special. I think it was for a few months for $1 or something like that. I can't remember. That offer expired and I got an email for the 2 yr deal this morning.
How much does it cost by the month to have the paper delivered now? Our local paper here has gone to $22 a month.

I pay $7.99 a month for the paper weekday and Sunday. I got an email well actually two the other day. I opened the first and it said to ignore the email that was sent in err. So I wondered what it was all about. I deleted this one and opened the next email and it said an additional $6.00 would be added on to my subscription to cover the cost of the special they run like the bonus and also the magazine additions. Glad they told me to ignore this one or I would have ignored them rather quickly. I like the digital version rather than I hard print. I only read the front section ( A ) which gets shorter and shorter in detail. I am lucky to download more that 2 or 3 MB. Don't bother with sports section. For what it is worth I only want the comics. obits and Dear Abbey.

That is half way reasonable. At 22 bucks a week it is over $500 for a year for our puny and anemic little paper. They must have read my mind. I had every intention of cancelling my subscription when that $1 offer ran out. I only read about half of what is in it and that isn't much. I usually just read the front page, some of the local news, obits, Dear Abby, and the classifieds.

Our paper was 14 pages total and had 2 grocery ads and an ad from Rural King Farm Store.
I spent more time reading the OD online than I did reading our paper. I read our complete paper while leaning on the gate waiting for the dog to pee. A total of about 5 minutes or less.
