The woman that went missing in Oneida and that was found dead in a field off of Lenox Ave. was my stepson's mother in-law. It is the second death that they as a couple have had to endure. It was only a few years ago that Steve's mom, my ex-wife, was found dead on the sidewalk in front of her apartment in Vernon. She had died from complications of a recent surgery. My youngest son had to go there in the middle of the night to identify his mother's body. In the case of Steve's mother in-law the poor woman had dementia and it looks like she wandered into the field, found herself lost and died of exposure in the cold weather you have been having up there. Please include them in your prayers. There will be tough days to come as they deal with this unexpected and tragic loss.

It is a dangerous situation for a person with dementia to be out in the elements. I just read that in Rogersville Tn, about thirty minutes from here, they found and 88 yr old woman with dementia on her porch with severe hypothermia. She was still breathing and they tried to warm her, but she died at the hospital. It was in the teens again last night, and they think she had been out there all night.
