Dave suggested maybe we could start a "board to dedicate to police related matters. I see no harm, and we can try it and see if it gets a lot of play. It is a place to post matters concerning our law enforcement agencies. Such things as the deputies contrat issues and the James St Safety Center could be discussed here. Give it a try, and if it isn't popular we can take it down!

Seriously, sounds good to me. We do have many post of Police related incidents and having the one board would make things much to easier follow.

Great idea kids!!!! I think issues regarding law enforcement would be easier to follow on a separate thread/board. Maybe this may be a step in the direction of mending or breaking down police-community barriers? Clip you may be on to something here!! I gave UPD your number.

Great idea! Terrific band! "Every Breath You Take" is my favorite song! That Sting is quite a guy.

Will this section also contain the latest "crime activity news"? The reason I ask is that on Thursday night, WKTV made an announcement on their 11 PM news that a criminal had tried to outrun the Police but was finally captured in Deerfield.
There was nothing about this on WKTV's Website - or the OD! I would have liked to learn more about this rather than just the short comment made on the News.

If the news doesn't give us full coverage, and the paper doesn't cover it, then we only have the officers that are members here to report the facts to us. Those officers are bound by duty to keep facts under wraps that could hinder an investigation, or that pertain to an ongoing investigation. I don't see any major news flashes being first reported on the forum, unless a member is privy to inside and breaking news. The new board will simply categorize discussion items for easier navigation of the boards, and will highlight issues concerning police matters and law enforcement issues such as the contract issues of our deputies. I doubt that it will be the band aide miracle cure to the rift between the police and the community, but with CONSTRUCTIVE discussion, it may be a dab of ointment that may assist in the healing process.

Have you missed me, wcup? I've been having problems with my computer but my granddaughter figured out what the problem was - it was in the Mouse!
So, now that my 17 year old GD was smarter than me in figuring out how to get this computer to work, I'm back joining everyone.
Have a nice day - it is suppose to start getting warmer!

Dave, I want to be just like you when I grow up. You'll have to wait for me to grow up first. And I'm not working very hard at it.
